North Campus & South Campus

The university property at Maynooth consists of a north and south campus. The north campus has been developed since the 1970s and houses teaching, administration and services buildings such as the John Hume Building, the Arts Building, the Callan Building, the Science Building and the University Restaurant. Also located on the north campus are the Sports Centre, playing fields and three accommodation villages - River Apartments, Rye Hall and University Village Apartments.

On the south campus, where a national seminary was established in 1795, are the main administrative offices of both St Patrick's College and NUI Maynooth. There are also numerous teaching facilities as well as extensive grounds with playing fields, tennis courts and a swimming-pool. Accommodation for seminarians is located in St Mary's House, while year-round guest accommodation is also provided in St Patrick's House, Stoyte House and Long Corridor. The south campus is distinguished by the splendid architecture of the nineteenth century, including Pugin's Neo-Gothic buildings and the College Chapel.
